AOAO Foundation Report

AOAO Foundation Update
By Gary S. Ulrich, DO, FAOAO

Greetings to the membership and happy summer. I would like to take this opportunity to provide you with a few important updates about AOAO Foundation activity.

Currently, the AOAO Foundation Board of Directors has approved the implementation of a research grant in the amount of $5,000. This grant will be available for resident members and members in fellowship training to assist with high-quality research activities. Application details and grant criteria are being developed under the direction of Dr. Doug Dietzel, Program Director at Michigan State University.

The AOAO Foundation has also scheduled a fundraising dinner at the Hilton Atlanta during the AOAO Annual Meeting this October. A special menu will be offered featuring local cuisine. It will be a great opportunity to enjoy a nice dinner with friends for a good cause. Proceeds from this dinner will support Foundation activities, including scholarships and grants. Seating is limited, so be sure to include this event on your Annual Meeting registration form.

Negotiations have been ongoing with major publishers to offer orthopedic-related journals through the John Drabing, DO Virtual Library. I will continue to update AOAO members about this important project.

Lastly, the AOAO Foundation continues to offer scholarships to support resident attendance at the AOAO Skills Lab and the Annual Meeting. As we continue to explore new ways of supporting its mission, please consider attending the fundraising dinner in Atlanta or providing a personal donation.
