Foot & Ankle Section Update
By Patrick Bull, DO

It is a special time at the AOAO Foot & Ankle Section. At the 2019 Fall meeting in Colorado Springs, Colorado, one of our very own, Terry Philbin, was sworn in as the next president of the AOAO. We are incredibly proud of him. He works tirelessly to support osteopathic orthopedic surgeons, especially foot and ankle subspecialists, and we are grateful for his dedication and leadership.

Our next Foot & Ankle Session will be during the Fall meeting in Austin, Texas. Last year’s session saw a great turnout and feedback was overwhelmingly positive. We are in the process of developing our topic agenda for 2020. Anyone interested in being on the speaker panel should reach out to either myself or Mark Krahe.

As in past years, there will be a section lunch on the same day as the session. The lunch is very informal and serves as an ideal opportunity to meet the section members. Come on by if you have any intertest in foot and ankle orthopedics. We would love to tell you more about our great group. Please encourage any residents interested in a Foot & Ankle fellowship to swing by the meeting.

For Foot & Ankle online information, including listerv case review/collaboration and the Section Forum, please refer to the AOAO website. Under the Groups & Committee’s icon, choose “Section” near the bottom of the available choices. Instructions on how to participate in the case review forums are provided there, along with a directory of all current section members.
