Outstanding Resident of the Year in Orthopedic Surgery
Sponsored by the AOAO and American Osteopathic Foundation
The Outstanding Resident of the Year in Orthopedic Surgery embodies the combination of clinical promise, leadership, dedication and commitment to osteopathic patient-centered care. Program Directors may nominate residents in their second year of training through their last year or residency or fellowship. Nominations are being accepted now through May 15, 2020. Scientific Paper Awards
Residents who are still required by their programs to submit case presentations or scientific papers during training may be eligible to receive a scientific paper award. Papers are submitted through the AOAO case log system and are then reviewed and scored by the AOAO Editorial Subcommittee each year. First, second and third place winners are selected in each category from papers receiving the highest scores. The resident must have been the lead author of their case presentation or scientific paper to qualify. Each winner receives a monetary award as well as travel reimbursement to present their paper at the AOAO annual meetings.
