Strategic Roadmap to Prevent Secondary Fractures
From the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research

The final Strategic Roadmap to Prevent Secondary Fractures, prepared for the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research (ASBMR) by the Center for Medical Technology Policy (CMTP) is now available. This effort is a follow-up to the ASBMR Call to Action to Address the Crisis in the Treatment of Osteoporosis in 2016, The Roadmap builds on the combined previous work of many individuals and organizations, including AOAO.  The ASBMR is now moving into the next phase of the project which is to form a Coalition to develop a detailed action plan based on the Strategic Roadmap.  CMTP has been asked to continue with assistance on this project by translating the Roadmap recommendations into specific tasks, accompanied by timelines, leaders and responsible parties.

The action plan will be effective only if it is crafted with substantive participation of key stakeholder groups.  The ASBMR believes they have the potential in the coming months to realize significant progress and make an important difference for patients with fractures by better protecting their independence and their health.
